Aromatically there are notes of crushed rose petals and violets, as well as tart red fruit and fine vanilla. The palate is refreshing with well balanced tannins, and the finish is surprisingly dry compared to the delicacies on the nose.

Concentrated notes of preserved plums and mulberries are accented by tilled earth and tobacco in this freshly balanced Pinot Noir. Moderately full bodied and supple on the palate, it finishes on a hint of charry tannins. It should hit peak from 2023 and hold through 2030.

The 2019 Nuits Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes has an earthy nose that has difficulty following the divine Pommard Vignots; it just feels a little too feisty. The palate is medium-bodied and shows more cohesion and focus, offering fine-boned tannins and dark berry fruit laced with bay leaf toward the slightly bitter, soy-tinged finish. Moderate length.
