Colour: Bright gold yellow with straw yellow tints
Nose: Very elegant with a quintessence of pineapple, hazelnuts and lime-blossom, aromas of quince, vanilla and toasted bread.
Palate: Rich and mellow, with tropical aromas coming first and evolving towards more mineral and buttery notes.
Food pairing: Serve at 10°C with seafood and fish dishes, white meats and also Foie Gras, blue cheeses or fruit desserts. This wine will also be very enjoyable alone as a relaxing drink!
The Winemaker:
As the fourth generation wine grower, Jean-Claude Mas, The Humble Winemaker,was born in a total wine growing environment in the Languedoc in the town of Pézenas
At the age of 3,during vintage, and in spite of all dangers due to his very young age, he escaped from his mother and walked 1.5 miles in order to go the cellar where his grandfather and father were fermenting the new wines. Since then the interest and passion for wine hasn’t stopped.
In the beginning of the 90’s he was involved with wines like Château Pape Clément or Château Talbot in Bordeaux where he worked for 4 years. This experience was critical in his approach to great wines tanks to the famous Bordeaux vintners he worked with.
In the mid 90’s he went back to his roots : while being a Director at a large winery in the south of france renowned for the quality of its varietal wines, he thn preared the first blends to be bottled the family estate. The first bottle of wine under his family name was a 1995 wich today drinks exceptionally well.
Jean-Claude Mas is often described as one of the pioneers of the « new Languedoc » or the « new age » of wine in France, one of those who work to restore the status of the region where wine culture is older than 2000 years.
He now exports “Luxe Rural” to share its values way outside of Languedoc.

In the early 2000’s, the french seen as Arrogants are less popular abroad. The french products, specially wines are loosing market shares in the English speaking countries. In this unfavorable economic environment, an idea will sprout in Jean-Claude Mas’ mind.
In 2005, this challenge oriented man is developing the wine brand who mocks the French self-confidence. A nice Frog, a bit dandy, is introduced on wine labels.
Arrogant Frog is now a success story with over 5 millions bottles sold in more than 40 countries.
